The Bikeathon Sunday June 5th 2016
In conjunction with Kingussie BikeFest 2016
Registration opens at 9.30am. The first riders start at 10.30am
CHSS welcomes everyone to take part in this family friendly event which is based in and around the cycle friendly Highland village of Kingussie in the scenic and picturesque landscape of the Cairngorms National Park.
All ages and abilities and all types of bike are welcome with the fully supported route following quiet country roads. This is definitely not a race – this is a great day out on your bike enjoying healthy exercise amidst stunning scenery and all the while helping people who are affected by debilitating chest, heart and stroke illness.
This is a just a fantastic day out with medals and t-shirts for all event participants and lots of exciting things to see and do at the Kingussie BikeFest too.!
The cycle ride starts at Kingussie High School where all participants register, get a Bikeathon event number and t-shirt. The route is a straightforward 25 mile circuit on quiet rural roads via Newtonmore, Glentruim, Laggan and back via Newtonmore to the finish at Ardvonie Car Park in Kingussie where everyone receives a warm welcome and a Bikeathon medal. There will be refreshment stops along the route and the whole cycle route will be well-signed throughout.
The Bikeathon forms part of the Bikefest Scotland activities taking place in Kingussie all day with kids races, skills tests, a stunt show, stalls and refreshments.
